Chair Ansari meets Bangladesh PM Hasina

KATHMANDU : The chairman of the Muslim Commission Samim Miyan Ansari met with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh to urge investment in Nepal’s education. In the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office in Bangladesh, Chair Ansari discussed bilateral interests and mutual relations. Ansari, who had recently observed the general elections in Bangladesh, emphasized the potential for cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade, economic partnership, and more during his meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday.

During the discussion, Chair Ansari recalled the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 50 years ago, highlighting the possibility of collaboration in various sectors. He stated, “There are shared economic, social, and other relationships at the grassroots level between our two countries. We can collaborate in various multidimensional fields.”

Chair Ansari pointed out that many Nepali students are studying in Bangladesh, while some Bangladeshi students are pursuing education in Nepal. He appealed to the Bangladeshi government to invest in Nepal’s education. The meeting also emphasized the strong and genuine relationship between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Nepal, based on mutual benefits and cooperation. Prime Minister Hasina expressed confidence that the relations between the two countries would reach new heights in the coming days.

Chair Ansari, along with commission member Mahmadin Ali, had visited Dhaka for the observation of the recent general elections in Bangladesh. Under Ansari’s leadership, monitoring was conducted at nine election centers. After the elections, Chair Ansari addressed a joint press conference organized by the election observers.
